About Yorcard

Yorcard is a public transport smartcard that has been piloted in South Yorkshire. It is a smartcard version of different types of paper based tickets and passes. All Yorcards feature ITSO technology, one of the most advanced, easy to use and secure ticketing systems in the world.

Yorcard is a joint venture between South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive and the Metro (West Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive), designed to bring the benefits of smartcard technology to the region.
